The Certified School Security Professional (CSSP) is a three (3) level training program.
Learn how we can protect our children when they are at school or away from home.
- Understand the real versus perceived measure of school security and safety issues.
- Parent or School official will understand what safety and security requirements schools must follow.
- Security practitioners will learn to demonstrate your knowledge of school security rules and regulations and market (highlight) your expertise.
At each level, a certificate is awarded upon completion of coursework and an exam indicating mastering of a specific subject area. Certification requires passing the certification exam.
CSSP LEVEL 1
Introducing the Issues
CSSP - I provides training on the awareness of K-12 school security problems and the associated legislative landscape. Learners will be made aware of the broad range of challenges schools need to consider when creating comprehensive security plans. CSSP levels I is anticipated to meet the needs of parents interested in familiarizing themselves with school security and safety issues. It also serves as an introduction to these issues for school level officials, security practitioners, and school security committees.
The cost of each course is $20.00
The cost of each exam is $165.00*
The course and exam may be purchased together for $170.00
*Note that the course is a prerequisite for the exam and must be completed prior to beginning the exam.

Preparedness Planning Basics
CSSP - II will introduce the learner to security assessments, mitigation strategies and security planning. The learner's will also be presented with additional lessons learned developed by government agency and peer reviewed reports. CSSP levels I and II are anticipated to meet the needs of a majority of school level officials, security practitioners, and school security committees.

In-Depth Preparedness Planning
CSSP - III will provide a more in depth training on security and emergency management planning, including Federal NIMS and ICS. Training will include the concepts of Planning, Preparedness, Response & Recovery. CSSP-III is targeted for the school committee chair, subject matter experts (SME), and planners at the district, county, and state levels.
